What does Squinchee mean anyway? Can't tell you, it's a secret! I CAN tell you that it's a nickname that my best friend gave me.I'm excited about starting this blog. Finally going to use my degree! LOL. The degree in music doesn't make me a know-it-all. It means that I've been through a rigorous study of music theory, vocal technique, performance styling and studied many, many songs.
The short version - I'm bored with music that's obviously created with a formula. I also belly dance for fun, and love expressive music from many different cultures.
To me, music should inspire movement or create an experience. I enjoy digging into the nuts & bolts of music. I'm not going to give you any bull. You may not like what I say, but you can trust that I'm not hedging to gain popularity. This is an invitation into Squinchee's thoughts. Enjoy your stay.
Some things you'll see here are:
- Squinched Recap - Means I wrote an interpretation all seriously and shit. On the Squinched Recap, I let the inner Loki reign and I go wherever it takes me. Seriously.
- Featured Artist - You guessed it. I'm featuring them because they stood out or impressed me in some way. It doesn't mean I don't like other musicians/singers who aren't featured.
- (Coming Soon!) Squinchee's Playlist - Songs that move me, along with a short blurb and hopefully a sound clip or video.
- (Coming Soon!) Community Tab - I'm assuming that someone actually read one of my blog posts. I want to know about my readers and am planning something or other...LOL.

FAN WARSI love a great variety of music from artists whose fandoms compete (cat fight?) with each other. I'm not a fan of fan wars, so please, leave them at the door. This is my playground. Let's play!
